A thorough cleaning

Check the tire pressure

The tire pressure should be checked regularly and the start of spring is a good time to do this again. The right tire pressure ensures better driving characteristics and reduces fuel consumption. In addition, your tires wear out less quickly and you have more grip on the road surface. You can check the tire pressure in various places, but you usually check this yourself at a gas station or car wash.   

Check the windshield wipers

The windshield wipers usually have a hard time during the winter. That is why it is important to check them properly at the beginning of spring. With the changeable weather in the Netherlands, properly functioning windshield wipers are also very important in the spring to maintain good visibility. 

Check the lighting

Even though you generally won’t need your lights as much in the spring, it’s still important to make sure all of the lights on your car are working properly. This will help you stay visible to others in the evening and at night. Check all of your lights, including turn signals, brake lights, headlights, and tail lights. 

Check all fluids

Your vehicle needs various fluids to continue to operate efficiently and safely. When preparing your car for spring, you should also check all the fluids. Think of coolant, engine oil and windshield washer fluid. 

Check if the air conditioning is working

Keep your head cool with a properly functioning air conditioner during the warmer spring days. To prevent unexpected problems and unpleasant temperatures in the car, it is therefore important to check your air conditioner in time to make sure it is working efficiently.
